Miami Dolphins, De'von Achane

Dolphins News 10/11/2023

Some Miami Dolphins news for today. The team announced that RB De’von Achane was placed on injured reserve (IR). Placing him on IR means Achane will be out for a minimum of four weeks. Other backs will need to step up in his place over the next few weeks.

Dolphins News and Notes

RB Jeff Wilson’s 21 day window is now open according to HC Mike McDaniel. Wilson has been on IR since the start of the season. The RB must be placed on the active roster within the 21 days or he can’t return this season. McDaniel advised that Wilson will practice “NFL football” today.

The coach says it always hurts losing a good football player due to injury, but said he is comfortable with the depth and talent of the running back room.

Switching to the receiver room, McDaniel says he feels that WR Chase Claypool should be able to pick up the offense pretty quickly. When asked if Claypool might line up as a tight end, he said that Claypool is a WR. But, the coach added that he never fits any one player into a box.

Other Fins Notes

LB Jaelan Phillips will participate in practice drills this week but the coach would not say if Phillips will or will not be ready to play by Sunday. The coach also advised the RB Salvon Ahmed will practice today and even joked that he might do it in orange shoes.

The team will honor Hall of Famer Zach Thomas at half time of this week’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Thomas was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year. It was a long overdue induction.

OL Isaiah Wynn is good to go this week per the coach. Wynn had the left the New York Giants game for one play this past week.

Local media advised that during the short time they were allowed to view some of the practice, that C Connor Williams and FB Alec Ingold were not seen. There were also reports that Ingold was seen in a walking boot on Monday, but he told reporters that he was fine.
