Armstead and Miami Dolphins Notes
In today’s press conference, Coach Mike McDaniel discussed Terron Armstead along with other Miami Dolphins notes. McDaniel said that Armstead’s pec injury will not require surgery.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel indicates LT Terron Armstead (pec) won’t have surgery & hasn’t been ruled out to play Sunday vs. 49ers.
I’m told Armstead has been telling folks he’s aiming to play this Sunday. Armstead does have a remarkable ability to play through injuries.

It is remarkable news that Armstead is even a possibility for action this week as the Dolphins take on the 49ers. Initial reports had him out between 2 to 3 weeks at a minimum. So, if he is ready to go it will be a big boost going against one of the NFL’s best defenses. Armstead exited the Houston Texans game with a pec injury. He did not return. As the days go by it seems that the left tackle is recovering quickly.
McDaniel described Armstead as being on a game-to-game status. Cameron Wolfle reported that he has heard that Terron has told people that aims to play this week. The Dolphins start a tough three-game road stretch starting this Sunday. When the injury first was reported it was believed that he might miss the entire road trip. It is still up in the air as far as official status. But, the feeling seems to be now that the valuable left tackle might make his return quicker than thought.
McDaniel stated about Armstead, “He’ll do everything possible.” The coach also said that the star tackle loves playing for moments like these in December games against playoff teams.
Other Dolphins Notes
McDaniel did not seem as optimistic about (OL) Austin Jackson returning to action this week. The coach stated that he would be surprised if Jackson could play against the 49ers. He reinjured his ankle that had kept him out of action from the first week until he played against the Texans.
Raheem Mostert appears ready to play against his former team this week. McDaniel says that Mostert was almost ready to go against the Texan but the team held him out. The coach said Mosert was held out due to his importance to the team moving forward.
As the Miami Dolphins have done in the past, the team will stay out west between the 49ers and Los Angeles Chargers games to cut down on travel. Speaking of the Chargers game, it has been flexed to Sunday Night Football. People are starting to take notice of the winning Fins.
