Dolphins and Browns
The Miami Dolphins return home to face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday (11/13/2022). Miami defeated the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears the past two weeks on the road.
Week 10: Browns and Dolphins
The Browns will enter this game against the Dolphins with the intent to run the ball. Cleveland currently has the 5th most rushing yards as a team. Their leading rusher is Nick Chubb with 841 rushing yards which is good for 2nd place in the NFL behind only Derrick Henry of the Titans (870 Yards).
Using Nick Chubb will be the plan since Cleveland will want to control the clock to keep the ball away from Miami’s electric passing attack. Tua Tagovailoa along with Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle have been picking apart defenses the past couple of weeks.
The Browns are coming off of a bye week as they prepare to take on the Dolphins. However, in their last game, they had an impressive outing against the Cincinnati Bengals. Cleveland’s defense harassed Joe Burrow all night. Burrow had very little success against Cleveland’s relentless pressure. The Dolphins will have to protect Tagovailoa in order to avoid the Bengals’ fate.
The Dolphins defense has overall played well against the run this year. Only two opposing players have hit or gone over 100 rushing yards against Miami in 2022. Those two players both happen to be quarterbacks. Lamar Jackson as well as Justin Fields had huge rushing days against the Dolphins. In fact, Fields broke the single-game NFL rushing yards record for a quarterback in his game against Miami. Luckily for Miami, the Browns QB, Jacoby Brissett, does not run as well or as often as Jackson or Fields.
A quick fun fact on Bradley Chubb who Miami recently acquired in a trade from the Denver Broncos. Bradley and Nick Chubb are second cousins. They will face each other this week as the Browns take on the Dolphins in Miami. They previously faced each other in the NFL when they were both rookies (12/15/2018). Nick was on the winning side that game. So, it is now time to get Bradley a victory!
