Dolphins Betting Favorites to Land Derrick Henry or Dalvin Cook!

If you have been tuning into the Fins Talk Sports Network, you would know we have been discussing the strong possibility of Miami adding either Vikings Dalvin Cook or Titans Derrick Henry this offseason.

Well, it seems steam is picking up that this could be the case. According to Bookies.com, the Dolphins are viewed as the front-runners to land either the former 4-time pro bowl back out of Minnesota or former 3-time pro bowl back out of Tennessee.

Bookies.com currently has Miami as a +250 favorite to have Cook on their roster at the start of the season, with the Vikings at +300. the Eagles at +450, the Cardinals at +600, the Patriots at +750, and the Bears at +1,000.

Trade Talks Started Before Resigning Mostert and Wilson

The Dolphins have already talked with the Vikings and Titans regarding possible trades but couldn’t agree on the trade compensation, according to reports. Those talks occurred before Miami resigned both Jeff Wilson and Raheem Mostert in March to new deals, but that does not stop the Dolphins from moving forward on a deal if both teams agree on fair compensation.

They could easily trade Wilson after June 1st for a lower cap hit than his current $2.2 million cap number now. If a trade were to happen, expect conversations to heat up during draft week. The deal could include a mid-round pick and possibly wide receiver Cedrick Wilson.

Expect Contract Extension if a Trade is Made

If Miami does acquire Dalvin Cook or Derrick Henry, expect a contract extension soon after. Cook is only 27 years old and coming off a season where he rushed for 1,173 yards and 8 touchdowns on 264 carries in 17 games behind the 14th best offensive line according to PFF. Henry, who is 29 years old rushed for 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns behind the leagues worst offensive line in Tennessee. Cooks and Henry are scheduled to make around $11 million next season, which includes bonuses.
