Dolphins Fall to the 49ers

The Miami Dolphins winning streak ended as they fall to the San Francisco 49ers. This was the first game of a very tough three-road game stretch. The final score was 33 to 17 as the 49ers won their 5th straight game.

Dolphins Fall Due to Turnovers

The 49ers played a great game against the Dolphins. But, the main reason why Miami fell so far behind on the scoreboard was turnovers. During their winning streak, Miami was able to protect the football. That was not the case today (12/04/2022).

Miami started off with a bang as they scored a touchdown on the very first play from scrimmage. Tua Tagovailoa hit Trent Sherfield on a crossing pattern. Sherfield took the reception 75 yards to the house. Miami quickly jumped out to a 7 to 0 lead. However, it was all downhill from that point from a Dolphins’ perspective.

Tagovailoa had been sharp over the past few weeks. But, today he was missing some open receivers. There were also some dropped balls when Tua did hit the mark. The Dolphins fell out of first place due to today’s loss to the 49ers. I will cover more of this game tomorrow. But, just like the Dolphins have to do. I will look to next week.

Before jumping to the Los Angeles Chargers game, I will like to point out that Tyreek Hill had another very productive game. He put up 146 yards in receiving to go along with a long touchdown reception. Hill is 10 yards away from tying Mark Clayton’s team record of 1389 receiving yards for a season. The record was set by Clayton in 1984.

Time to Focus on the Chargers

Yes, the Dolphins fell hard today to the 49ers. But, it was a non-conference game so it does not hurt as much as a loss to the Chargers would on Sunday Night Football. Miami must bounce back quickly, they cannot afford a losing streak at this junction. I hate saying a must win, but this Chargers game has the feel of a must-win for the Dolphins.
