Daewood Davis, Miami Dolphins

Dolphins Final Exhibition Game

It is only the pre-season! That is what I have to say about the Miami Dolphins when it relates to this game. Miami appeared flat at times. Christian Wilkens and Zach Sieler did not play and it showed. Miami lost 31 t0 18 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Final scores do not matter in the pre-season. But, avoiding injuries and doing some fine tuning is important. This final game was called due to a injury to Daewood Davis. There was suspended with over last eight minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. All thoughts to Davis, his family, and friends. It was reported that he was moving and talking. Davis was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Game

The Dolphins did not look strong in the trenches when the Jaguars had the ball. As mentioned above, both Wilkins and Sieler did not play. The Jaguars were able to move the ball on Miami via the run and pass. Miami did create a turnover in the red zone as Jerome Baker and Jevon Holland jarred the ball loose. Holland recovered the ball which resulted in a touchback.

On offense, Miami looked great at the start but the first drive was marred by an awful snap by Connor Williams which resulted in a 25 yard loss. Miami was fortunate to get the ball back. The play put an end to the first drive.

Miami moved the ball on the second drive but had to settle for a field goal. That was it from the first unit.

Other Notes:

Skylar Thompson threw interceptions on his first two drives. He did lead touch down drives. Chris Brooks scored the two touchdowns to cap those drives.

It is just pre-season but Miami better get all the missteps out of the way before 09/10/2023. Tua Tagovailoa seemed to be on point, but that bad snapped ruined the first drive. Fins Up to all. My positive outlook for the upcoming season is still intact!
