Here is some Miami Dolphins news for Friday the 13th! Mike McDaniel spoke with the local media in his regular Friday press conference. The coach gave some updates on the injury status of some of the players. Miami will be hosting the Carolina Panthers on Sunday (10/15/2023).
Dolphins News
There were reports the OG Robert Hunt had injured his knee in practice this week. But, McDaniel said that Hunt was going to practice today. He also advised that Hunt should be playing on Sunday.
At this time, there is still no word on which player will fill the vacant roster spot that was created when RB De’Von Achane was placed in injured reserve (IR). When asked if RB Jeff Wilson would fill that spot, McDaniel said that Wilson will be ready to go if the team takes that route.
Wilson along with OL Robert Jones and DB Nik Needham had their 21 day windows recently. Needham and Jones had that window opened last week while it just opened for Wilson this week. The 21 day window is a rule that once a player starts practicing, the team has 21 days to place him on the active roster. If not, he cannot return this season.
Connor Williams
C Connor Williams has not practiced this week as he battles with an ongoing groin injury. Williams played this past week against the New York Giants, but had missed the previous game against the Buffalo Bills. McDaniel advised the groin is not torn but that Williams would likely be a game day decision on if he is active or not.
Chase Claypool
WR Chase Claypool was recently acquired via a trade with the Chicago Bears. The coach said he has been impressed this week on Claypool’s picking things up. McDaniel did not say if Claypool would be active this week as Miami takes on the Panthers.
