Miami Dolphins, news, thirsty

Dolphins News 10/20/2023

We are one game into Week 7 of the 2023 NFL season, the Miami Dolphins will be playing in prime time this week. Will the Fins be able to get rid of the label that they have not beaten a team with a winning record? This non-conference game is a tough game on the road. Mike McDaniel spoke with the media today.

Dolphins News: October 20, 2023

RB Chris Brooks was placed on the injured reserve (IR). There was no immediate move to fill the now vacant roster spot. It seems like RB Jeff Wilson will be the choice to fill that spot. As of right now, Miami only has Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed as running backs that are ready to play this week.

DB Update

Cornerbacks Xavien Howard and Kader Kohou will practice today on a limited basis. Howard has been dealing with a groin issue while Kohou has a neck injury.

No official word on when Jalen Ramsey or Nik Needham will return to the active roster. Both of them have had their 21 day window to return to the roster opened. Needham will have to be activated by next week (Same as RB Wilson) or he will not be able to return this season for the Dolphins. Ramsey has been ruled out for this week. But, the team has until after the bye week to make the official move of Ramsey onto the roster.

Cam Smith

Will this be the week that rookie DB Cam Smith gets meaningful defensive snaps? He came in last week when the Dolphins had a big lead. Howard and Ramsey have been working with Smith to get him ready to take a step up.

Center of Attention

McDaniel would not say if C Connor Williams will be able to play this week. Like Howard, Williams has been dealing with a groin injury. Williams missed the games against the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers. He did play against the New York Giants, but Williams advised in hindsight that may not have been what was best.

The coach also acknowledged that that residuals of Williams playing against the Giants makes this a tough decision. They will do what is best for Williams in the big picture of things.

Van Ginkel Returns

LB Andrew Van Ginkel returned to the team today. Yesterday, he was sidelined due to an illness.
