Fanduel Week 5 with a Dolphins Slant

FanDuel Week 5 picks as of 10/07/2022. The Miami Dolphins have had some of the top fantasy players so far this season. Wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle have both exceeded expectations but are highly priced this week. There could be some value to find within this Dolphins team this week as many people may look elsewhere with the Dolphins’ starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa not playing. Let’s look at some of these Dolphins’ players and some others around the league for this upcoming Sunday on the main Fanduel daily fantasy slate of games.

FanDuel Week 5 Quarterbacks

We are not biased here when we say that the Dolphins’ starting quarterback in week five could be a great value play on Fanduel. Teddy Bridgewater is stepping into an offense that has been electric so far this year. He is accurate and can throw the deep ball. All he will need to do is to get the ball in the hands of his playmakers like Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill, and Chase Edmonds to have a successful fantasy day. Did we mention that at his price tag of $6,400 on Fanduel he is also tied for the second-cheapest quarterback on the main slate?

Other quarterbacks to consider on Fanduel could be Jalen Hurts in a juicy matchup against the Arizona Cardinals at $8,600 or Tom Brady, who has been in the limelight a lot recently for other reasons besides his play on the field, but has a great matchup as well against the Atlanta Falcons. Now, time to run over to the running back picks for week 5 of Fanduel!

Running Backs

Raheem Mostert has solidified himself as the lead back in Miami for the immediate future and is a good value this week on Fanduel at just $5,800. He got 15 carries last week and turned in a solid performance on Fanduel. His odds of finding the end zone this week for the first time all year against the New York Jets is the highest of the year so far as well. Chase Edmonds may be a running back to stay away from on Fanduel as he has just 16 carries and four catches over the past three weeks and is only $100 cheaper than Mostert at $5,700.

Khalil Herbert stepped in for the Chicago starter David Montgomery the past two weeks and he will likely continue to see the bulk of the carries this week. He got 19 and 20 carries the past two weeks and is fairly priced at $7,100 as the 14th highest-priced running back on the slate. What running backs do you like for FanDuel Week 5?

Wide Receivers

Both the star wide receivers for Miami are questionable this week. It seems more likely that Hill will play than Waddle, but if Waddle is out there without Hill, he makes for a great play this week. Hill is priced pretty high which may scare some users away at $8,400 but Waddle should be popular at just $7,700, especially without Hill in the lineup against a Jets team that has given up over 25 points per game this year.

With the Saints’ wide receiver Michael Thomas ruled out this week, the rookie Chris Olave should continue to be a solid fantasy option. He has had 14.7 and 19.2 Fanduel points in the past two weeks, and he should continue to put up a lot of points as the lead receiver in New Orleans.

Hopefully, Fanduel week 5 players will have their picks get lots of targets!

Tight Ends

Fanduel players may be smart to stay away from the Dolphins’ tight end Mike Gesicki this week at $5,000. He has yet to get over four targets in a game this season and there are other options out there for better value. If Tyreek Hill is out, Gesicki does look a little better, however.

There aren’t many great tight end options on the same slate the Dolphins are playing in as Darren Waller, Mark Andrews, and Travis Kelce will all be playing in later games and Kyle Pitts and Dawson Knox have been ruled out. There are some risky value plays at tight end that opened up with Pitts and Knox being injured but a safer play looks like Zach Ertz at just $5,900, who is seeing about eight targets per game this year so far.

Defenses for Week 5 Fanduel

The Dolphins have the second-highest-priced defense this week, and for good reason. They have one of the most favorable matchups against the Jets. If you have the extra salary for your defense, they make a fine play.

For those looking to find some better value with their defense, the New Orleans Saints playing against the Seahawks could prove to be one of the better value defenses this week at just $3,800.
