Miami Dolphins News 11/22/2023

The Miami Dolphins appeared on Hard Knocks last night. Now, they have to get knocking and face the hard fact that they are playing on a short week. Miami will be flying up to take on the New York Jets in the first ever Black Friday game. Mike McDaniel had his Wednesday press conference to discuss some news about the Fins.

Fins Notes and News

Still no word on if RB De’Von Achane will play against the Jets but the coach said today’s practice will a determining factor. The coach said Achane will not play on Friday if there is any chance of him aggravating his knee injury.

The running back room continues to be shifting around. Chris Brooks is still on the injured reserve list. His window may open at some point, but for now he is out. Salvon Ahmed has been ruled out for the season. If Achane can’t go on Friday, it looks like Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson get the bulk of the action at running back. It is possible that recently signed Darrynton Evans could be elevated from the practice squad if Achane is unable to play on Friday.

OL Concerns

OL Robert Hunt who has  missed the past couple of games might suit up on Friday, but McDaniel did not confirm his availability for action.

The coach sounded more sure on the statuses of RT Austin Jackson and OL Lester Cotton in terms of being able to play. Robert Jones has not been practicing so his status seems to be that of out.

Other Notes

It seems like WR Braxton Berrios will be back in action this week after sitting out the Raiders game due to a hamstring injury. TE Durham Smythe who also missed the Raiders game due to injury seems more in doubt, but has not been ruled out as out as of yet.
