Miami Dolphins News 12/20/2023

The Miami Dolphins will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve day. Both teams come in with a 10 and 4 record. The game will be nationally televised by Fox with their number one broadcasting team. Miami is coming off a victory against the New York Jets while Dallas is coming of a loss to the Buffalo Bills.

It Gets Serious Now

The Dolphins control their own fate in terms of winning the AFC East for the first time since 2008. Miami had a comfortable three game lead until the loss against the Tennessee Titans. Now, Miami must win their next two or get help from the Bills losing to clinch the division title. The title could very well be decided in the final week of the season if Miami falters overs the next two weeks.

News and Notes of the Miami Dolphins

WR Tyreek Hill was going to be held out of practice today (12/20/2023). HC Mike McDaniel advised that Hill is getting close to returning, but wants to make sure that things are running on all cylinders before Hill returns to the practice field. But, it seems like there is some hope that Hill be able to play against the Cowboys.

DB DeShon Elliot is still in concussion protocol, but McDaniel stated on Elliot, “ {He} is participating in the process of getting cleared.”

RG Robert Hunt is still dealing with a hamstring injury that has kept him out the past two games. His status for Sunday remains in question as of today.

RT Austin Jackson is dealing with a quadriceps injury that he sustained in the second half of the Jets game this past Sunday. McDaniel advised that Jackson will not miss as much time as Jaelan Phillips did when dealing with a quadriceps injury earlier in the season that caused Phillips to miss three games. No word on if Jackson is expected to play this week’s game.
