Miami Dolphins Wednesday

Miami Dolphins Wednesday

We have hit Wednesday which means we are that much closer to Miami Dolphins football! Yes, Miami has lost three games in a row. Some returning starters are set to appear this week! This should help the Dolphins get back on track. They started the season with 3 straight wins with most of these starters in place.

Miami Dolphins Notes on Wednesday (10/19/2022)

The returning star that will get all of the headlines is of course quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa.  The young QB was off to a good start this season before going out injured in the 4th game of the season. The concussion that Tagovailoa sustained on Thursday Night Football made national headlines. The Dolphins will hold their Wednesday press conference later today in Miami Gardens, Florida. But, the coach has already made it clear that Tagovailoa will start the nationally televised game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football at Hard Rock Stadium.

Hopefully, the Wednesday press conference by Miami’s Mike McDaniel will shed a little more light on the return of a couple of other Dolphins players. Yet, you already kind of get the feeling that both Terron Armstead and Austin Jackson will make their return. But, this has not been confirmed by the team as of yet.

Other Thoughts

Mike Gesicki had his best game of the season as far as stat production in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday. He had two touchdowns among his 6 receptions for 69 yards. Now, we have to see if this trend continues or is just a one-game thing. There have been games this season in that Gesicki seemed like a forgotten target. The lack of production could be the result of McDaniel’s offensive scheme or the lack of consistency at quarterback due to injuries. Now, with Tagovailoa’s return, it should present a better understanding of where Gesicki stands moving forward.

The media (especially social media) loves this week’s Miami Dolphins game against the Steelers! It is only Wednesday, yet I’ve already seen countless takes on the return of Brian Flores to South Florida. The return of Tagovailoa coupled with Flores visiting South Florida does make for some interesting takes. While coaching the Dolphins, it just seemed that Flores did not have faith in Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa did not seem to play with confidence under the command of Flores. So, this should make for some interesting sidenotes as the Sunday night game unfolds.
