Mike McDaniel: OTAs Press Conference
McDaniel said the person to take on Mike Geisicki’s role might be a receiver. He said it is too early to make any projections on that front. He said a lot of things factor into why they are only holding 6 OTAs instead of the allowed 10. Mainly they are using only 6 because of the hard work the players have put in the off-season to earn fewer sessions.
McDaniel will root for the Miami Heat even though he grew up a Denver Nuggets fan. He respects Eric Spoelstra as being one of the best coaches in all of pro sports.
Post June 1st Cap Money
The Dolphins will have an additional $13.6 Million in cap space when the post-June 1st money for Byron Jones comes off the books. During the OTAs press conference, McDaniel did not give any hints of how it would be spent. But, said he knows the team will make full use of every resource they have to improve the team by the regular season.
McDaniel said that South Florida feels like home now. He knows the fans are passionate and he loves it. When asked if Terron Armstead had foot surgery, McDaniel said he will not put a player business out there for everyone to see. But, said he knows Armstead has seen enough practice sessions and wants to get out there and participate.
