Running Backs Show Out!

The Miami Dolphins running backs showed up for game 2 of the exhibition season. Overall, the entire offense looked much better than last week. Miami won 28 to 3.

Running Strong

The game started off about as poorly as possible for the Miami Dolphins. Tua Tagovailoa threw an interception on the first pass of the game. It set the Houston Texans up inside of Miami’s 10 yard line. Yet, the defense held the Texans to 0 points after Houston failed to convert a fourth down.

Tagovailoa as well as the whole offense bounced back strongly on the next drive. Miami started off bad on the 2nd drive with a high shot gun snap which cause the handoff to lose yards. However, it got much better.

Miami went down the field with a nice mix of run and pass. They converted some third downs along the way. Raheem Mostert closed out the long drive with a TD run.

That was enough for HC Mike McDaniel as Tagovailoa did not return to the field.

Devon Achane

Devon Achane showed why fans are excited to have him on the team. He had nice runs and caught the ball out of the backfield. However, he went out injured. He was carted off the sideline to the locker room. No updates on Achane’s injury status.

Salvon Ahmed, Chris Brooks, and Mostert also looked strong during this game.

Solid Defense

Miami’s defensive unit had a nice outing. Yes, the Texans are not juggernauts but Miami did what they had to do. David Long made one play that stood out. He used a quick burst to make a tackle for a loss on a running play. Long should make a difference if he stays healthy.

Overall:

The 28 to 3 victory does not mean anything just like week’s loss to the Falcons. What does matters is that you saw improvement over last week. It is also good to see our running backs have a strong performance.

The offensive line play improved as well. They paved the way for Miami’s strong rushing attack against the Texans.
