Sunday Without the Dolphins

It is Sunday, but the Miami Dolphins are not playing today. Yes, they already played this week on Thursday Night Football. Miami lost to the Cincinnati Bengals. Yet, the biggest concern coming out of that game is the injury status of QB Tua Tagovailoa. The national and local media has been all over this topic like Melvin Ingram is over a fumbled football.

There is nothing new to say on the injury involving Tua that has not already been discussed. We all know that two doctors signed off on Tua returning to game action against the Bills. The unaffiliated league doctor has since been fired.

Anyway, what are your plans for this Sunday without Miami Dolphins football? Tell Dolphins Thirsty on Facebook!

Sunday Notes

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald has an interesting article about the steps of the concussion protocol in the NFL. It is worth a read if you can see it behind the paywall.

Next Sunday, the Dolphins take on the New York Jets up in Metlife Stadium. No matter the records between these teams, this is often a tough game. Dolphins fans travel well every season as part of their annual Metlife Takeover plan. So hopefully, this season is no different.

I’m hoping that both Xavien Howard and Byron Jones will be ready to go against the Jets. Howard has played in every game this year. However, he has been dealing with groin issues. So, against the Bengals, he had to exit the game. On the other hand, Jones has missed the first four games as a result of being placed on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) to start the season. Yet, this week he is eligible to return to action.
