Taking Another Run in 2022

Myles Gaskins and Salvon Ahmed return to the Miami Dolphins for the 2022 season.

As the offseason unfolded, most people that follow the Miami Dolphins figured that either Myles Gaskins or Salvon Ahmed would not make the final roster. Several even suggested that neither one of the former Univesity Washington standouts would be on the Dolphins this upcoming season. A recent article by Barry Jackson (https://twitter.com/flasportsbuzz) of the Miami Herald noted that Gaskin’s $2.5 salary was not guaranteed unless he was on the roster for Miami’s first game.

Sony Michel signing a contract with the Dolphins had many penciling in Michel as having a spot on the final 53. As the preseason played out it was clear that Gaskins and Ahmed had outperformed Michel. The Dolphins cut Michel who has since signed a contract with the Chargers. Gaskins and Ahmed may have limited roles behind Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert, but are ready to help the team. According to the Jackson article, both Gaskins and Ahmed seem to like the new offense under Coach McDaniel.
