Tua Tagovailoa Ruled Out
Mike McDaniel announced during his Wednesday press conference that QB Tua Tagovailoa has been ruled out. Skylar Thompson appears to be the quarterback that will get the start against the Buffalo Bills.
Tua Tagovailoa has been Ruled Out
McDaniel advised that Tua Tagovailoa has not been cleared for football activities. The coach has ruled him out for the team’s first playoff game since 2016. Miami will have to count on Thompson to lead the team. Thompson is a rookie who was drafted in the 7th round of this year’s NFL Draft.
I hope the best for Tua’s health beyond that of even football. Tagovailoa might be ruled out of this playoff game. Yet, the young man has shown that he is a leader on and off the field. No one knows what this means for Tua or the Miami Dolphins long-term. Yet, we do know for this week, Miami must prepare for a playoff game with Thompson as the starter.
When Tua was ruled out for the last regular season game, it was Thompson that went out and won the must-win game. Yes, Thompson might not have put up great numbers but he did enough to win the game. I feel that Thompson needs to do more than just avoid mistakes if the Fins have any hopes of an upset victory.
Skylar will need to make game-changing plays, three field goals and safety is not going to beat the Bills.
