Wilson Miami Dolphins
Jeff Wilson has been added to the Miami Dolphins backfield via a trade with the San Francisco 49ers. Chase Edmonds’ short tenure with Miami is over as he has been traded to the Denver Broncos. Dolphins Thirsty previously wrote about the Bradley Chubb trade in another blog. Tell us your thoughts in the comments section or on Twitter of your thoughts on these newest additions.
Miami gave the 49ers a 2023 5th-round draft pick for Wilson. The running back should be a quick fit into Mike McDaniel’s offensive system. When the 49ers pulled off a big trade for Christian McCaffrey, it was clear that McCaffrey was going to get the bulk of the action. So, it took away from the load of other running backs on their roster.
Wilson was one of those backs. He was having a solid season but became expendable after the 49ers landed McCaffrey. McDaniel must have given the thumbs up to GM Chris Grier on Wilson’s ability to help the Dolphins. He was averaging 5.1 yards per carry with the 49ers this season. Raheem Mostert another former 49ers player, will most likely be the primary running back for now. However, Wilson should be a quick study of the offense. So, fans should expect to get a dose of the newest Dolphins back this week as they take on the Chicago Bears on the road.
Wilson played his college ball at the University of North Texas. He had an impressive tenure at the school, but he still went undrafted. The 49ers signed him as an undrafted free agent.

On paper, the Dolphins have improved themselves at the trade deadline. Now, it is time for Chubb and Wilson to show the results on the field.
