2023 NFL Draft: Jordan Battle, DB, Alabama
Rating scale: Poor 1 Elite 10 COD: Change of direction
Caballero describes Jordan Battle as a tall lanky DB that plays fast. A quicky twitchy athlete that turns that skill into being a good football player. Uses his speed during live-game action to stay with receivers not just stopwatch fast while wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Above average change of direction skill set. Straight-line speed is a little better that his lateral quickness.
Battle has smooth hip movements to turn and go with the flow of the play. Seems to study film as he quickly reads and diagnoses plays in real-time. Jordan has fast reaction times that enable him to target the ball or the person with the ball quickly to put a stop to the play. Solid tackler that follows through by squaring up and wrapping up the ball carrier.
Usually Battle takes good angles to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible. His range is good but not great. His box game is good but Battle is more of deep safety single high or quarters. Solid technique and sound fundamentals help him be around the ball to make plays. Caballero said, “Jordan has good hands, can hawk you or knock you.” Good at keeping the play in front of him. Good in the slot as he can go 1 on 1 or switch off coverage in zone reads.
Battle had 6 interceptions in his college career, he took 3 of them to the house.

The Prospect Sheet
Jordan Battle attended Saint Thomas Aquinas high school which is a powerhouse football program in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was highly recruited out of high school. He originally committed to Ohio State but changed his mind to sign with Alabama. Battle also had offers from Texas, Georgia, University of Miami, Michigan, Tennessee, and others.
Battle has been invited to attend the NFL Draft Combine.
Draft projection: 2nd round
Overall, Caballero feels that Battle will be a solid NFL player with the potential to be a pro bowl level player. He likes Jordan Battle’s overall game skills.
