Miami Dolphins Top Brass Attends Penn State Pro Day – Who Could They Be Watching:

Earlier today, it was reported that Miami Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier, Head Coach Mike McDaniel, and Offensive Coordinator Frank Smith was in attendance for Penn State’s Pro Day. It’s obvious the Dolphins wanted the most important eyes on a certain prospect or two but who could that be?

Since it’s offensive coordinator Frank Smith joining McDaniel and Grier, I am going to assume it’s an offensive player they want to take a closer look at. So, let’s take a look:

TE Brenton Strange: Mike Gesicki is now a New England Patriot (Yuck) and though the Dolphins signed Erik Saubert from the Broncos, they are still in the market for a tight end. Another sign he could be the player they are watching is that cameras caught him speaking with the Dolphins brass at his pro day.

Strange is a solid all-around player, who has the ability to be a very solid blocker and can contribute in run game protection. He has good hands and solid speed. He could be the pick in the 3^rd round at pick 84.

OL Juice Scruggs: If you talk to a Miami Dolphins fan and ask them what position they would like Miami to address, they more than likely would say – Offensive line. Juice Scruggs offers position flexibility, being able to play guard or center. He was a team captain in college and could be a solid depth option later in the draft.

WR Parker Washington: The Dolphins look to have their wide receiver room set with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle leading the way but after an offseason where they filled most of their needs, could Miami take advantage of the flexibility they have an add another receiver to their talented unit?

Washington is a slot receiver who has great hands and who can contribute on special teams immediately. He could be available on Day 3 on the draft.

WR Mitchell Tinsley: Another wide receiver but not one to be ignored, Tinsley is a very good route runner and though the not the fastest receiver – he could be an impact player on a team with his terrific ball skills.

QB Sean Clifford: Tua Tagovailoa is the unquestioned starter going into the 2023 season, there is no debate there but where is debate is who will be the backup? The Dolphins drafted Skylar Thompson last season in the 7^th round and signed former Jet Mike White this offseason to compete for that spot but could they consider a 3^rd option? Why not?

Clifford is coming off a historic run as Penn State’s quarterback – he has good pocket awareness and the mobility to extend plays. He could be had in the 7^th round and could be a fun project for a team looking for a player in the mold of a Taysom Hill.
