2023 NFL Draft: Parker Washington, WR, Penn State

Parker Washington, 2023 NFL Draft, SRS

Rating scale: 1 Poor 10 Elite COD: Change of direction

Caballero describes Parker Washington as a WR that plays fast that can stop and go with ease. Great change of direction with smooth hip movement even at full speed. A great burst of speed upon the first movement to get a jump on defenders covering him.

Washington is under 6 feet tall but plays like a big-bodied receiver when 50/50 balls are thrown in his way. Can make the aerobatic catch even with tight coverage to help his QB. Soft but strong hands that can go up and snatch the ball at the high point to defeat defensive backs in coverage.

Parker Washington runs clean crisp routes with hard cuts. Among the best route trees of all WR prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft. Will need some work in the NFL like any other prospect but he is strong in all areas of the passing game. He does well in short, intermediate, and deep routes. Excels at getting yards after the catch as he is able to break tackles and run away from defenders. Caballero stated, “Get the ball in the hands of Parker and let him do the rest.” Even when brought down, Washington often falls forward to keep the chains moving.

A really good WR that may not get the attention of some of the other prospects. But, Caballero feels that this WR out of Penn State can be a difference maker to any team that selects him. Also, has value on special teams in the return game. Plays with the dog factor as he is always on the go. Acts like every play is the last play with the game on the line.
