Andrew Van Ginkel Miami Dolphins

According to a report from Jason Sarney (@Jason_Sarney), Andrew Van Ginkel is planning to return to the Miami Dolphins.

Sarney advised that it could be possibly a one-year deal for the linebacker that has played well when given the chance. At the start of free agency, most people that follow the Miami Dolphins thought that Van Ginkel would get a larger deal and more playing time from another team. He did meet with the New England Patriots and there were reports that he had also been in contact with the Las Vegas Raiders.

In an offseason where many AFC East players are switching teams within the division, it is especially nice to see Van Ginkel return to the Dolphins. Van Ginkel was a 5th-round draft selection out of Wisconsin. His playing decreased some last year with the additions of Melvin Ingram, and Bradley Chubb, as well as the extra playing time for Jaelan Phillips.

His most memorable plays for Dolphins fans are most likely Van Ginkel’s two touchdowns. He returned a fumble recovery for 78 yards against the Los Angeles Rams in Tua Tagovailoa’s first career start. Last season he scooped up a blocked punt against the Chicago Bears and took it to the house.
