Dolphins and Bills
The Dolphins and Bills face off tomorrow (09/25/2022) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. So, Dolfans are hoping for a hot muggy day in South Florida. The Buffalo Bills come in as the favorites in this game. Yet, Buffalo does have some injury concerns especially on the defense. Can Tua Tagovailoa along with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle take advantage of the banged up Buffalo defense?
Lately, the Dolphins and Bills rivalry has been lopsided in favor of the team from the north. Now, is the time for Miami to show the Bills as well the rest of the league that they mean business. As of this writing, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (Hamstring), safety Micah Hyde (Neck), and cornerback Dane Johnson (Neck) are listed as out for the Bills on defense. Von Miller is 100%, so it will still not be an easy day for the offensive line.
For the Dolphins, it is looking like corner back Xavien Howard (Groin) will be a go against the Bills. Offensive tackle Terron Armstead (Toe) has not practiced this week. So, his status is unknown. My gut tells me that Armstead will give it a go. Head Coach Mike McDaniel advised that wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr wants to play. But, coach also mentioned that Wilson is dealing with sore ribs. Wilson seems to be a game day decision. It should also be mentioned that the Dolphins and Bills both have corner backs that are on the physically unable to perform list (PUP). On the PUP for the Dolphins is Bryon Jones. While the Bills are without their top corner back, Tre’Davious White.
Dolphins and Bills History
The Dolphins lead the all time series with 61 wins against 54 losses as well as 1 tie. But, as mentioned it has been all Bills lately. The Bills have beaten Miami 7 straight times. Plus, some of those games were not even close. The Dolphins owned the Bills in the 1970s! The Bills could not beat Miami back in the 70s. Imagine, having a decade of dominance over another team. Hopefully, Miami snaps the 7 game losing streak against the Bills. Because, I do not want to be on the flip side of being dominated for years.
My favorite game in this rivalry is the Louis Oliver Game! No, it is not really called the Louis Oliver game. But, Oliver had an amazing game up in Buffalo on October 4, 1992. Oliver had three interceptions of Jim Kelly. One of the interceptions was returned for a franchise record 103 yards. Needless, to say it was a pick 6! The safety had an incredible 170 return yards in the game. The Dolphins won by the score of 37 to 10.
