Dolphins Dive into Bye Week

The Miami Dolphins dive into the bye with a four-game winning streak. Most recently, Miami bashed the Cleveland Browns as the Dolphins played their best overall game of 2022.

Random Dive into the Dolphins Thoughts Vault

Before diving into thoughts on the 2022 Miami Dolphins, I would like to say Fins Up to the 1972 team! After the Philadelphia Eagles lost last night (11/14/2022) on Monday Night Football, Perfectville still only has a population of 1. 50 years and counting!

Miami is off this week, so no need to look ahead to the Houston Texans just yet. So, this is a perfect time to dive into everything we have seen from this year’s version of the Dolphins.

Miami started off 3 and 0 which included some quality wins. One of those wins was the dramatic comeback against the Baltimore Ravens on the road. This is the game in that Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle put the league on notice that Miami’s offense is a force to be reckoned with in the NFL. For more on the big comeback victory, you can about read it here.

During that 3 game victory streak to start the season, Miami finally beat the Buffalo Bills. The Bills left town knowing they would not walk away from everyone in the tough AFC East.

Dolphins Dive into Bits of Trouble

During the Bills game, Tagovailoa had to leave the game for a little bit. His return to the game inspired an uproar of screams from people seeking attention. People blasted social media outlets with outrageous takes as if they were doctors. Two real doctors signed off on Tagovailoa returning to the game. He played well enough after returning to lead the team to victory.

Then came the Thursday Night Football game against the Bengals in Cincinnati. Tua would suffer a concussion on a play where he was sacked. It was a scary moment for everyone playing or watching. The quarterback had to be carted off the field as he was transported to a hospital. The Dolphins had to dive deep into their quarterback room while Tua was out of action. Both Teddy Bridgewater and Skylar Thomspon saw action.

This opened the gates for people to dive into attacks on Miami’s decision to play Tagovailoa on short rest following the Bills game where Tua had to leave for a little bit. Luckily Tua has recovered.

Without Tua at the helm, the Dolphins lost 3 games. They did not win a game without him.

Tua Returns so Does the Winning

No deep dive into the Dolphins is needed to see that Miami is a better team when Tua Tagovailoa is leading the way. Some people will point to the teams Miami has played in their current four-game winning streak. But there are no easy wins in the NFL. Two of those wins came on the road.

It has been way too long since the Miami Dolphins have been a relevant force in the NFL. This year feels different. It seems like the Dolphins are heading in the right direction as they dive ahead into a tough part of their schedule.

The additions of  Jeff Wilson and Bradley Chubb at the NFL Trade Deadline seem to be paying off. Especially, the early returns of Wilson at running back. In just his second game as a Dolphins player, he rushed for over 100 yards against the Browns. He has scored a touchdown in each game of the two games he has played for Miami.

The Dolphins do not play this upcoming Sunday but as always Dolphins Thirsty will be talking about the Miami Dolphins! Make sure to follow us on Twitter!
