Some Miami Dolphins news for  the Friday before the first weekend of NFL action. The Fins will be flying out to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers in week 1.

Roundup of Dolphins News

Miami’s new defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio, spoke to the media yesterday via a press conference. When asked if there is more pressure on Jaelen Phillips and Bradley Chubb to produce as a result of the Jalen Ramsey’s injury. He stated, “I just think the whole front needs to play good each and every week.”  Fangio called rookie Cam Smith a work in progress. Fangio on Eli Apple,  “He’s done a good job with picking up the system. He’s a pro, knows how to approach things. So good level of trust there.”

By that answer it seems like there is more trust in Apple over Smith at this time. Which understandable since Smith is a rookie and Apple has played several seasons including a trip to the Super Bowl.

Fangio described Chargers QB Justin Herbert as a “highly talented guy.” He added, “Obviously, he’s got great size, got a big arm but yet he throws the ball with touch, throws a very catchable ball. Can throw it anywhere on the field , short, intermediate and deep and real deep. Very elusive. He’s a good scrambler. He pulls it down and runs. He’s fast. He’s a complete quarterback.”

Emmanuel Ogbah

Emmanuel Ogbah spoke with Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Ogbah said that he will have multiple assignments coming off the bench. He said he is fine with not starting and is excited to play in Fangio’s defense. Some of his job will still to be put pressure on the QB, but he said he has some assignments that will call for him to drop back in coverage.

In Jackson’s article it points out that Ogbah will play inside and outside at times. Ogbah is ready for the new roles.

Old School Logo or Current?

I’m a fan that rocks all the versions of the Dolphins logos, but when push comes to shove I always admit I like some of the older versions the best. I really like this shirt I might buy on Fanatics! Should I do it? But, no matter what I just want Miami to be a playoff winning football team. So, any logo they get that done in is perfectly fine by me!
