Christian Wilkins, Miami Dolphins, thirsty

Miami Dolphins Notes 08/16/2023

The Miami Dolphins are in Houston to play against the Texans on Saturday. But, before the game, the teams are having joint practices. Today, was the first one. Tomorrow the Dolphins Thirsty YouTube Channel will have some live updates from the practice. Steve Molloy will be in attendance for Dolphins Thirsty and the Fins Talk Sport Network.

Fins Notes: Miami Dolphins

Christian Wilkins is sitting out the practices but is in Houston supporting his team. Wilkins has earned a pay raise , he is now letting the Dolphins know that he knows it. This should be a priority for Miami. Wilkins brings it every game with an all out effort. His play on the field has earned him a raise. Plus, his leadership and respect of his teammates shows that he is too valuable to let walk away.

Tua Talk

According to reports from people on scene in Houston, Tua Tagovailoa led some nice drives. However, he threw two interceptions that would be returned for a touchdown in game. One of the drills was set up where he had to throw to one side of the field, but Tua himself said it was a pass that he should have just thrown away.

Tagovailoa did step up his game in red-zone drills. He threw a nice TD pass in the corner of the endzone to River Cracraft.

Phillips set to Dominate in 2023?

Jaelan Phillips has had an impressive training camp. Nothing changed on that front in Day 1 of practice versus the Texans. The edge rusher was credited with tw0 sacks and pressure throughout the practice. This upcoming season could be a breakout campaign for Phillips.

David Furones of the Sun-Sentinel gave a stock report to Andrew Van Ginkel for constantly being around the ball. Furones gave a stock down to Connor Williams (C). He pointed that Williams got beat pushed back in one on one drills then held on the play. Williams did better in run block according to Furones.
