Miami Dolphins Notes

Barry Jackson, of the Miami Herald, had several Miami Dolphins Notes in his most recent article. Barry mentioned that rookie wide receiver (WR) Erik Ezukanma is possibly in the running to be the fourth WR. Therefore, Ezukanma could be on the field when the team lines up in a 4-WR set. But, Ezukanma only would say that he expects playing time early in the season according to Barry. So, it is quite possible the Dolphins will roll with the veteran, Trent Sherfield plays with 4-WR sets.

Barry noted that Ezukanma stated,

“I’m never satisfied but throughout the process of camp, I feel I did good enough as a rookie coming in.,” Ezukanma said. “I made plays when the ball came to me.” Even so, “It wasn’t up to my standards.”

In the same article, Barry quoted Tyreek Hill as saying,

“He’s very hard to tackle. very strong, great balance, great hands. He has everything you need to be one of the top guys in this league. It’s about staying consistent and listening to the coaches. He’s a heck of a player.”

More notes from Barry: Three defensive players were listed as questionable for the first game. They are DT Raekwon Davis, S Eric Rowe, and LB Andrew Van Ginkel.

David Furonesof the Sun Sentinel, advised that Nik Needham and Alec Ingold were both updated as full participants for Friday’s practice. Furones had in his Miami Dolphins Notes that Davis was wearing a compression sleeve on his right leg during practice on Friday. Davis stated in the article, “Just a little football, got rolled up on. That was about it. Nothing too big.” Also, Davis stated by Davis, “It’s feeling all right, getting better. … Just taking it day by day. We’ll see what happens in the future.”

In other Fins bits, it was pointed out by Furones that three Dolphins players were wearing colorful camouflage jerseys. The colorful camouflage jerseys have replaced the orange jersey that players wore after a good practice session the previous day. During the season, players that have good practices will wear camouflage jerseys. The camouflage jerseys today were worn by backup center Michael Deiter, practice squad wide receiver Freddie Swain and practice squad safety Verone McKinley according to Furones.
