Miami Dolphins Week 8 Notes
The Miami Dolphins travel to take on the Detroit Lions in week 8. The Lions are in the midst of a poor season with a 1 and 5 record entering this game. Yet, I get the feeling the Dolphins are in for a battle in this one. Dan Campbell who is the Lions head coach will have his team roaring to play. You might remember Campbell took over as interim head coach of Miami when Joe Philbin was fired back in 2015. With Campbell in place as head coach, the Dolphins promptly won two games in dominating fashion. However, the rest of the season did not go as well. After the 2015 season, Adam Gase was hired as the head coach of the Dolphins.
Some Week 8 Notes for the Miami Dolphins
As the Miami Dolphins enter this week 8 game against the Lions, they are still trying to get healthy. Tua Tagovailoa returned in week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yet, the Dolphins are still without OT Austin Jackson as well as CB Bryon Jones. It is still unknown when those two presumed starters will return to action.
The Dolphins suffered a major loss of talent when S Brandon Jones was placed on the injured reserve. The talented safety is lost for the season. Jones is a major reason that the Dolphins do well in playing an aggressive attacking style of defense. So, in week 8 the Miami Dolphins will have to move forward with Eric Rowe getting more action. Rowe has proven throughout his career that he is a dependable player that gets the job done.
The signing of Connor Williams flew under the radar this past offseason with the additions of Tyreek Hill and Terron Armstead. Yet, as the Dolphins entered week 8 of NFL action, it seems to be a great signing. Williams was a guard with the Dallas Cowboys. But, Miami made it known right after the signing that Williams would be tried at the center position. After some early concerns about his shotgun snaps, Williams has transitioned to his new position amazingly. According to Pro Football Focus, Williams is the 5th rated center in the NFL.
