The Dolphins beat the bills

The Dolphins Beat the Bills 21 to 19!

The Dolphins Beat the Bills in a hard-fought game at Hard Rock Stadium today. This game came down to the very last second with the outcome in doubt. But, the Miami Dolphins would hold in to beat the Buffalo Bills by a score of 21-19. Many players on both sides had heat-related issues in this one. Several players had to exit at times to get hydrated.

Buffalo started the scoring on the opening drive of the game as Josh Allen was a perfect 6 for 6 on the drive. The Bills closed out the drive with a six-yard pass to Devin Singletary. The Dolphins followed up with a drive that ended in a punt. Alec Ingold had a bad drop on this drive which should have gone for big yardage. However, after Miami’s punt was downed inside the 10 the Miami defense came up with a huge turnover. Jevon Holland sacked Allen which caused Allen to fumble. So, Melvin Ingram was able to scoop up the fumble. Now, Miami had the ball first and goal.

On third on and goal, Chase Edmonds scored Miami’s first rushing touchdown of the season making the score 7 to 7. At the beginning of the second quarter, the Bills got their second and final touchdown of the day when Isaiah McKenzie caught a pass from Allen. So, that made it 14 to 7 in favor of the Bills.

Tua Tagovailoa got into the scoring action when he hit Ryan Cracraft with a missile of a throw. Which, tied the game at 14 which would be the score at the halfway mark of the game. Miami could not score on their opening drive of the second half. The Dolphins punt by Thomas Morstead was down at the one after great special teams by Justin Bethel. However, the Bills would march down the field to get into scoring position. But, the Dolphins made the Bills settle for a field goal. The Bills led 17 to 14.

The Dolphins would have to punt. The defense once again made the Bills settle for a field goal attempt, but this time it would not be made. On the following Dolphins drive, Tagovailoa hit Jaylen Waddle for passes of 32 and 45 yards. In the red zone, Edmonds rushed for his second touchdown of the game. Edmond’s TD run made the score 21-17 in favor of the home team.

The Bills would drive down the field, but Miami was able to stop them on downs. But, the game was far from over. The Bills played tough defense which made Miami punt from the back of their endzone. Which led to a play that could have lived in Dolphins’ infamy forever. Morstead had pressure which caused his punt to hit the rear side of his teammate, Trent Sherfield, which resulted in a safety. This may still be known as the “Butt Punt”, but it will merely be a footnote since Miami held on to the victory. The ensuing free kick by Morstead was a monster punt that made the Bills have a lot of yards to get as time was running out. The Bills ran out of time. The Dolphins survived to win by a score of 21-19. So, Miami snaps their seven-game losing streak to the Bills.
