The Miami Dolphins will take to the field today (July 26, 2023) as the team gets ready for the September 10, 2023 season opener. This a season of high expectations for the Fins. The players know it.

Notes on the Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins announced some roster moves yesterday. The team placed Terron Armstead (T), Tanner Connor (TE), and Isaiah Wynn (T) on the active/unable-to-perform list. It was announced that CB Ethan Bonner was activated off the non-football injury list.

Players Speak

Both CB Raheem MostertCB Xavien Howard, and CB Jalen Ramsey spoke to the media yesterday.

Mostert on HC Mike McDaniel:

“With Mike, the beautiful thing about him is he’s going to look back at the season from last year. He knows everything that he did that was not his best work, and he’s going to readjust and do everything he possibly can to not make that same mistake twice. That’s the saying that he uses a lot. ‘I don’t want to make the same mistake twice.’ So in year two, being a head coach, I think that you’re going to see a lot of different changes with him, more so dialing in on different aspects of the game. He’s very intelligent, as you could tell. He understands the game a lot and he’s going to be working his tail off to make sure that he gets all the guys in the right position to win. I know that from firsthand and seeing it, when we were in San Fran together, to now. He’s going to make those corrections and he’s going to get on the same page with everybody.”

Howard (Longest tenured active Dolphins player) on what makes for a great defense:

“I feel like the little things. I feel like we’ve got a great group of guys on the defense this year and a lot of playmakers on this side. So I feel like with our defensive coordinator, he’s going to put us in a great position to make plays, get a lot of turnovers and continue to thrive on defense.”

Ramsey about building up the foundation starting at camp:

“You’ve got to have the pieces. That’s of course, right? You’ve got to have the talent which I believe we have, but then you got to – I just keep saying it – we’ve got to put the work in. It’s a crazy amount of work that we’ve got to put in, but it’ll all pay off and then we’ve just got to play as one. We’ve got to have unity as a defense and as a team. So those are all things that we’ll for sure work on during this training camp.”
