2023 NFL Draft: Jack Campbell, LB, Iowa
Grading Scale: 1 Poor 10 Elite COD: Change of direction
Caballero really likes how Jack Campbell plays football. Campbell has a tall lanky frame that still has room to grow. This LB out of Iowa has good speed, he might not be blazing fast but gets around the field quickly. Sneaky fast that runs downhill really well. Good footwork with decent flexibility. For a tall LB, his change of direction is excellent which is helped by his good footwork.
Campbell plays with solid technique as he stays low when running. A solid tackler that thumps the ball carrier. Not many yards after contact if Jack is doing the tackling. Tackling is a strong suit for this tough LB. Better inside than outside the numbers but still decent outside. Has the ability to read plays well which helps him make up for any speed advantage another player might have during a play.
Campbell’s long arms make it easy to keep blockers off of him. Also does well in coverage with his combination of speed and ability to diagnose what he sees. Decent in man coverage he can stay with backs and tight ends but room for improvement. When Jack Campbell is called upon to blitz, he does it well. Has a knack for the ball. Can be a special teams’ ace but may be too valuable as an every down LB.

The Prospect Sheet
Jack Campbell aside from Iowa had some colleges interested in him coming out of Cedar Rapids High School. Minnesota offered Jack a scholarship but Campbell decided to stay in his home state to play for the Iowa Hawkeyes. In 2020, Iowa tinkered with Jack at tight end. But, his true calling is a linebacker. (Source: 247sports.com)
