Nick Broeker, 2023 NFL Draft, Ole Miss, Guard

Grading scale: 1 Poor 10 Elite COD: Change of direction

Caballero says that Nick Broeker is a tall guard that is also strong. His footwork needs improvement as it appears he is stuck in the mud at times when he needs to work down the line. When he gets his feet moving well, this guard prospect has good speed. Even with heavy feet, his change of direction is surprisingly good.

Broeker’s excellent contact balance makes it difficult for defenders to move him off his spot. Great length with arms as well as strong hands. Uses those strong hands with great positioning to help deliver violent strikes upon initial contact. For being as tall as he is, this guard has a good knee bend technique. Like any prospect with his size, he can be stood up at times by strong opponents in the trenches.

Broeker has a mean streak in him when things get nasty as the big guys engage in contact on the field. Better in pass protection but his solid at run blocking as well. Decent football IQ but needs improvement at the next level picking up slide protections against twists and stunts.

The Prospect Sheet

Nick Broker had several scholarship offers coming out of high school aside from Ole Miss. He had offers from Ohio State, Rutgers, Michigan State,  Kentucky, and others prior to accepting at Ole Miss.  (Source: 247sports.com)

Broeker was invited and accepted to participate in the 2023 Senior Bowl. Named a second-team All-American by both Walter Camp Football and the Football Writers Association of America this past season.

Draft Projection for Broeker

Should go somewhere between the 4th and 6th rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft. There is a chance he could move into the 3rd round.

Overall, Caballero feels that this Ole Miss guard projects well to the NFL. Feels his best fit is with a team that uses an outside zone scheme.
